XiPlay drives multi-screen video walls from Xibo® CMS using BrightSign® sync groups, keeping playback frame-accurate across every screen in the wall. On XT-series players, genlock aligns the video outputs themselves, so content that spans screens moves as one surface, with no tearing at the bezels.
A software wall on consumer hardware drifts: each box decodes on its own clock, and "synchronized" becomes "close enough" within a few minutes. BrightSign® sync is a hardware-level capability, and XiPlay is how you use it with the CMS you already run.

A wall is one image wearing nine screens
Each player renders only its slice, but the audience reads the wall as a single surface. That illusion survives exactly as long as every player agrees on the current frame, and a few frames of drift and motion visibly tears at the bezels. Sync groups keep the players agreeing; genlock makes even the pixel clocks agree.

What a wall needs
BrightSign® sync has hard requirements. Plan the wall around them and commissioning is uneventful; ignore them and no software can save the install.
Same model family
Every player in the wall must come from the same BrightSign® series (e.g. all XT).
Wired network
Sync runs over Ethernet; Wi-Fi is not supported for wall members.
Same firmware
All wall players must run the same BrightSign® firmware version.
Matching output
Same resolution and frame rate on every screen in the wall.

How does XiPlay keep video-wall screens in sync?
Through BrightSign® sync groups: one player leads and the others follow, keeping playback frame-accurate across the wall. On XT-series hardware, genlock aligns the video outputs themselves for the tightest possible sync.
What is genlock and do I need it?
Genlock locks the video output timing of multiple players together so frames flip in unison: the difference between 'roughly together' and seamless on content that spans screens. It's a BrightSign® XT-series capability; walls on other models still sync frame-accurately at the playback level.
Do I need a license for every screen in the wall?
Yes. Licensing is per device, and each screen in a wall is driven by its own BrightSign® player. A 2×2 wall is four players and four licenses; volume discounts start at 10 devices.
Can the wall content come from my existing Xibo® CMS?
Yes. Wall content is scheduled in your Xibo® CMS like any other display content, and XiPlay handles the multi-player synchronization on the BrightSign® side.
