Some BrightSign® players have more than one HDMI output. XiPlay drives each output as its own independent display in your Xibo® CMS, with different content, schedule and orientation, so a bank of screens can run from a single box.
On a multi-output BrightSign® player, XiPlay treats every HDMI output as a separate player: each one registers as its own display in your Xibo® CMS, pulls its own layouts and schedule, and can run its own orientation. One box can therefore drive a bank of independent screens (up to four, depending on the model) instead of one player per screen.
For clustered screens that each need different content (a run of menu boards, a row of departure displays, a multi-zone lobby), that means fewer boxes to buy, mount, cable and power, with every screen still managed from the Xibo® CMS you already run.
This isn't a video wall
A video wall shows one synchronized image spanning several screens. Multi-screen outputs show a different, independently scheduled screen on each output. They solve opposite problems, so pick by whether the screens should look like one surface or run their own content.

Can one BrightSign® player run more than one screen?
Yes. On a multi-output BrightSign® player (models with two or more HDMI outputs), XiPlay drives each output as a fully independent display. Each one registers in your Xibo® CMS on its own, with its own content, schedule and orientation. Depending on the model, a single player can drive up to four independent screens.
Is this the same as a video wall?
No, they're opposites. A video wall shows one synchronized image spanning several screens. Multi-output means each screen shows different, independently scheduled content. If you want one image across many panels, that's our video-walls capability instead.
Does each screen still need its own license?
Yes. Because each output is a fully independent display, it's licensed like a standalone player: one license per active output. A four-screen player uses four licenses. What a multi-output box saves you is hardware, mounting, cabling and power, not licenses.
Can each screen show a different orientation?
Yes. Orientation is set per output and driven from your Xibo® CMS, so a portrait menu board and a landscape promo screen can run from the same player at the same time.
