XMDS setup (Xibo® v3 & v4)
XiPlay speaks XMDS, the management protocol used by the Xibo® ecosystem, and supports both protocol generations: Xibo® v3 (schema 6) and Xibo® v4 (schema 7).
- Set the CMS address to your Xibo® server's URL (HTTPS recommended).
- Provide the CMS key if your Xibo® install requires one for registration.
- The player auto-detects the CMS schema generation and adapts.
Display registration & pairing
On first contact the player requests registration with your Xibo® CMS. An administrator approves the display in Xibo® and assigns it to a display group, exactly as with any Xibo® player.
Content, layouts & schedules
You design layouts and build schedules in Xibo® as you do today. The player collects required media, evaluates the schedule, and plays the right layout, including dayparting, priority and interrupts.
Because the player keeps a local cache, your scheduled content keeps playing even if the CMS becomes unreachable.
Proof-of-play & logs
The player reports playback statistics and logs back to your Xibo® CMS, so you can prove a campaign actually played and diagnose issues centrally.
